All training involves the keep it simple and savage concept and this has been adapted from warfighting to address street level violence that is a on going problem today. Wolfes Combatives is based on three distinct programs; hard target, combat tech, and S.T.A.R. These three levels all interlock and provide a unyielding level of close protection physically, mentally, tactically, and spiritually for the student. Wolfes Combatives offers a short feedback loop in training making it easy to learn and in a relatively short period of time.

Training

The Wolfes Combatives system is unique in its approach to training. Wolfes is not a Eastern martial arts, therefore they have no belts. Their methodologies is to offer a western military structured curriculum based on a B.R.I.C.K. System that is divided into three distinct courses which interlock; entry level is hard target followed by combat technician and finally S.T.A.R. (special tactics and response). These levels are then augmented by tactical programs like F.I.S.H. And mental training they call H.E.A.T.

Wolfes Combatives training focus

People who train with Wolfes will tell you of the positive benefits they have received from doing so. Although they appreciate all those personal recommendations, that is not their focus. Wolfes trains people to deal with violence and that requires extra time and effort on their part to ensure you receive tactically correct training.

There are enough groups out there offering up personal growth and stress free lifestyles and that is good. Wolfes focus, however, is being an authentic, no nonsense, non sports based, non politically correct, get-to-the-point combatives training system. They are western military-based proud of it and you will 'train in the footsteps of heroes'.

Wolfes Combatives & Tactics profile

Wolfes system's original programs where designed in 1985 by Bill Wolfe as 'Modern Defendo' when he formed the International Defendo Federation (IDF) during his police service days. By the end of the 90's, Defendo was a popular brand, so much so they became victims of their own success. Unable to protect Modern Defendo brand from all the copycats, Mr. Wolfe disbanded the IDF as it lost sight of its roots and focus.

They were unable to guarantee Defendo practitioners were getting actual IDF based Defendo because today, there are so many unqualified groups 'piggy backing' on the Defendo name Mr. Wolfe established as their own with out any qualification or certification in their system. Therefore, Mr. Wolfe took bold action, re-branding the systems name to Wolfes Combatives. Wolfes is not about empire building, but offering authentic combatives training to clients through their training company's services.
