Daily training schedule

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Artists train in a variety of styles that have been proven effective in the ring, so that they can be effective in all the phases of combat. Although MMA fighters will try to play to their particular specialties, they will inevitably encounter all kinds of situations; a stand-up fighting specialist will probably get taken down at some point and a submission artist might need to fight standing-up for a while before he can complete a takedown. A Mixed Martial Artist might train in a particular style to enhance his or her skills in the phase of combat that the style encompasses. Typical styles, known for their effectiveness, that have been trained prior to the MMA career are trained individually to enhance a particular phase of combat.

Many styles have to be adapted slightly for use in the sport. For example, several boxing stances are ineffective because they leave fighters vulnerable to leg kicks or takedowns. Similarly, Judo techniques have to be adapted to an opponent not wearing a Judo-Gi. Commonly, modern day MMA fighters do not train in any particular style, but either train in multiple styles with multiple coaches, or train in teams with other MMA athletes focusing specifically on MMA fighting. Conditioning, calisthenics, and strength training are also important aspects of an MMA fighters training. Mixed Martial Arts competition is very physically demanding and the athletes need to be in top shape to be successful

Superpro Samui

Superpro Samui is not just a Koh Samui Muay Thai Camp. Superpro Samui is a Muay Thai / MMA and Fitness Resort. Superpro Samui gives people the unique opportunity to combine sports and holiday. Train in the morning, go to the beach in the afternoon, and maybe train for a second time that day in our excellent training complex. Inside are two Muay Thai rings and one MMA cage. Outside is the bag training area where you are trained by national and international, professional top-trainers and ex-stadium champions. Furthermore, Superpro provides fitness and cardio facilities in an air-conditioned area. Besides this, you have the opportunity to enjoy a delightful breakfast or lunch made by the cook. For everybody, if you are not in preparation for a fight, you can relax and enjoy Chawengs nightlife or the amazing beaches, restaurants, and spas Koh Samui has to offer.

Superpro Samui is located in Chaweng, a city on the eastern side of Koh Samui, directly across the island from Nathon. Without a doubt, Chaweng Beach is the most popular place to stay on Koh Samui. The beach has beautiful soft, white sand and is over 7 kilometres long. The water here is clear and clean, not too deep and ideal for swimming. As with any popular spot, Chaweng offers many different types of water sports; wave-runners, parasailing, canoes, and catamarans are but some of the activities offered. Chaweng has the most dive shops on Koh Samui, catering to all levels.

The main road in Chaweng runs parallel with the beach and is lined on both sides with hotels, bungalows, shops, restaurants, cafs, and bars. Heading north on the Chaweng Beach road will take you directly to the airport. Despite all of the activity here, there are still many places you can turn to for peace and quiet in this neat little town.

"Absolutely loved the place. As soon as we arrived, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The training was incredible. I was skeptical at first, thinking I wouldn't be able to follow / keep up, but the training team are amazing. The place really is suited to people of all abilities, and there is so much to learn. The trainers had fun with you, and each other - but were super serious. Muay Thai is their life. They train amateur and professional fighters, so you can expect the best. Love this place, and will be back."

"I had a great time. The trainings were fantastic and very well structured, and the trainers made sure to improve any mistakes you made while doing the exercises. Everybody was friendly, helpful, and approachable, including the staff. The only reason I did not stay longer was because the comfortable rooms for 1 person alone were a bit expensive and because the rain and damp weather everyday were driving me crazy! Will be back though."

"I arrived at Superpro Samui at around 10:30, shortly after their morning training session. People were really friendly when checking in. I had booked a room with A/C and it was very spacious with a balcony. A/C worked well and the room was clean.I turned out for the afternoon training session not quite knowing what expect having never done Muay Thai before. The first 20 minutes was an option of skipping or running. I had flip flops on so skipping it was. The rest of the training session was a mixture of practicing on the bags and one on one with an instructor on the pads.Over my time there I found most of the instructors were good and I learned a lot in four days. The rest of the people staying in the hotel were also really friendly and there was a good atmosphere about the place. The restaurant was pretty reasonable with a good choice of healthy food. All you can eat breakfast for 180 THB although could probably do with being open half hour early so you can get something before the 08:00 training session.Overall this is a good place to train with a good gym and also possibility of doing MMA. You can just walk in any time and stay for as long as you want with one on one training sessions available but relatively expensive. I had a good time."

"My cousin and I have recently stayed at Superpro Samui for a length of 30 days. It was the training experience I was hoping for in its entirety. The trainers were excellent and very experienced in teaching us. I have had quite a bit of MMA experience, however my cousin hasn't ever been in a fight.Despite our difference in levels they accommodated both of our skill levels perfectly. Accommodations were humble yet comfortable.I was 187 pounds when I started and I lost 12 pounds during that month. My cousin was 315 pounds and lost about 25 pounds.Amazing results for that short period of time and amazing training to go along with it. I highly recommend anyone who wants to get fit or train there. Heads up- If you can get your cardio has high as you can before you go. The more you can run the better off you will be."

"Possibly the best holiday I have had. I stayed at this camp for four weeks, and managed to train almost twice a day everyday apart from weekends. Room I stayed was air conditioned. Had no problems at all, and if I needed anything, the Robbie (the manager) and the lovely ladies in the office were always there to help. There is a cook on site, by the name of 'mama'. So whenever hungry, she is the go to lady! The training was twice a day, and the trainers were great, learnt a lot off these guys. I really enjoyed my time here. Planning on making another trip soon! Thank you guys!"

"I had never done any martial arts before and so I was a complete beginner - but it didn't matter. The Muay Thai classes are attended by people of all ages and all levels and everything could be adapted to suit. I stayed at Superpro for a month but would have happily stayed longer. The staff and trainers were generally very friendly and nice people. I would definitely recommend for anyone who is interested in Muay Thai to try this place."

"My daughter decided to continue her Muay Thai training during our stay at Samui. We were referred to Superpro an this was really great. Very good facilities and a large staff of very qualified trainers. She decided for an one hour private training in the morning and 2 hours in the late afternoon. It is hard training but highly recommended if you want to progress is a relatively short time."

"To be honest this is my first Muay Thai gym in Thailand but I've trained in numerous MMA gyms in the States. Of course the facilities and attitude are different but I really liked training here. The coaches are cool if a bit carefree and the facilities are decent. Got a good workout especially hitting pads in the ring and I learned a thing or two. Would return!"

"Wow! Two chicks completely inexperienced in Muay Thai decided to give it a go. Two hours later, dripping with sweat and smiling with endorphins, we determined that if we were going to spend two hours killing calories why not with some serious (or more experienced than beginner) Muay Thai fighters. We loved the atmosphere, the rings and the helpful Thai instructors. Never felt intimidated or inept and as such we have it our best and came home feeling accomplished!Need a unique and healthy experience for 400bht, you can't go wrong. 350 baht from anantara lawana on chaweng beach is pretty fair and the driver (Mr Joy) kindly picked us back up after 2hrs. I took home SuperPro singlet top, worn muscles and a few self-inflicted bruises. Plus a memorable experience!"

"I can't think of a better place to be right now. We arrived very late in the evening and there was still a receptionist waiting. Little that we knew, she was the one personal helping us fully during our stay! From day trips, scooters, foo, just all advice needed to make the stay comfortable.Since it was our first time, this help was perfect; all within a really decent price. Now the workouts! The camp is amazing. I wish I could stay for a view months. The trainers do fool around a lot in the beginning. Leg sweeps is what they seem to love. But when they see you really want to learn, they are very professional.I took a moment with a personal trainer and that changed my techniques on different levels. I can advise you to talk to trainer Noi. Hes the Thai with long hair. Looks like a Indian ;) Rooms are clean! Sport facilities are above normal Thai level. There are 3 big rings, huge mat and a lot of punching bags. Oh and pool, it is very nice because its freaking hot. My conclusion: The best mix of Thai Culture and Western Structure! Enjoy."

"I stayed at Superpro for 11 days. I trained there as well. The rooms are really nice and it's very clean. The Muay Thai gym looks really good and I think it's one of the best places to train for a short or long period. It doesn't matter how long you're planning to stay there and what you're goal is, they want to train you as good as possible. There is also a place to fitness and a swimming pool. They give good service, you can plan some trips or rent a motorbike. You can also eat there some good food. So, actually they have everything and it's really worth the money!"
