Tai Chi, literally meaning 'grand ultimate', is also known as Taiji and Taiji Ch'uan. It was originally created as a martial art but is more commonly known today for its health benefits.
Originating in China hundreds of years ago (the exact birth is shrouded in mystery and debate), Tai Chi is also well known for containing a system of slow meditative movements, known as form, which greatly enhance relaxation and concentration capabilities. Natural outcomes of practicing the form include the reduction of stress and the balancing of one's emotions.
Before advancing to the practice of faster movements, one has to spend a long time re-learning how to move in a natural and efficient manner, utilizing proper structure, alignment, and intent. The slow, graceful, and continuous movements found in the form are gentle on the joints and muscles, so are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Tai Chi is often referred to as a type of moving meditation because it stimulates the mind, body, and spirit. In the class, you will practice the 24-form based on the Yang style which is the most popular Tai Chi form in the world.
Raised Spirit Internal Art teaches both the civil and martial sides of Tai Chi Ch'uan. Nick draws on his experience from his extensive studies of numerous other martial arts (both internal and external) as well as yoga and Qi Gong.
Through the study of the internal arts, you will increase awareness, improve health, and gain a deeper understanding of your relationship to your environment. Raised Spirit Internal Arts is based in Oxfordshire, England, and organizes one-to-one sessions and seminars around the world.
Nick Osipczak has fought five times in the world's best Mixed Martial Arts fighting organization, the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He ran his own club in London for five years, where at one point, the fighters who turned professional under him had combined records of 22 wins and zero losses. None of the fighters Nick faced in his 18 career fights were able to finish him. In 2015, he became the first person in history who has fought at the UFC level to represent the Internal Martial Arts. Nick now teaches classes, one-to-one sessions, seminars, and intensive workshops around the world.
This training camp will take place in Watlington, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.
You will be served three meals a day during the training. The food will be good quality and using clean and fresh ingredients. It will be based on the diet Nick recommends and uses himself.
The price of this training includes massage and acupuncture session for each student.
