This intensive, transformative course will put you on the path to self-mastery. Combining world-class martial training, Tai Chi, Qigong, yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, cycling, hiking, swimming (cold-water), climbing, animal movements, and artwork, with the correct nutritional approach. You will leave this experience feeling better than you have ever felt before!
You will be accommodated in a lovely room with ensuite bathroom.
There are 11 training sessions per week, split over six days (rest on the 7th day), designed to train the mind, body, and spirit. During this training, you will be guided by Nick. Nick is a master of the Internal Arts and has competed at the highest level in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts for the world-famous Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC).
Over the years, Nick has passed his knowledge and experience on to people of all ages and abilities. For years, Nick focused on sharing his elite fighting skills - training many professional fighters, but more recently has begun passing on the spiritual warrior way of life, helping others to know themselves on a deeper level.
Learning how to control our minds (instead of being controlled by them) is crucial not only for the physical development but also for living a peaceful and productive life. Goal-setting and goal-attainment make up a significant portion of this study. The mind is sovereign and the body is subject.
Moving in slow-motion to gain the deeper awareness of anatomy, balance, efficiency, and body mechanics. If a movement cannot be performed slowly with control, then how can you expect to execute the movement properly at full speed?
Strength versus power. You are interested in becoming more powerful. Muscles only play a small role in power and are usually very over-stressed by most sports programs. Tendons, ligaments, bones, the nervous system, and the fascia system need to be cultivated. You can draw inspiration from the powerful, graceful, mobile, and coordinated movements of many animals (who do not carry excessive muscle-mass).
Work with rather than against gravity, to move more efficiently. This requires a deeper understanding of physical alignment, coupled with the ability to release deep tensions in the body and mind. You will be training with a partner, developing sensorimotor skills by connecting and harmonizing with them, and responding to information gained via touch.
Movement originates from stillness to gain a deeper understanding of movement, one has to study stillness. Use your increased awareness and improved structure and movement to heal existing injuries and prevent further ones.
Tai Chi, one of the martial arts styles you will practice, is known as Taiji that was originally created as a martial art (Taiji Ch'uan) but is more commonly known today for its health benefits. Originating in China hundreds of years ago (the exact birth is shrouded in mystery and debate), Tai Chi is most widely known for its system of slow meditative movements, known as the "form", which greatly enhances relaxation and concentration capabilities, as well as improving body mechanics.
Natural outcomes of practicing the “form” include the reduction of stress and the balancing of one's emotions. Before advancing to the practice of faster movements, one has to spend a long time re-learning how to move in a natural and efficient manner, utilizing proper structure, alignment, and intent.
The slow, graceful, and continuous movements found in the “form” are gentle on the joints and muscles, so are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Tai Chi is often referred to as a type of "moving meditation" because it stimulates and unifies the mind, body, and spirit.
The more you put in the more you will get out. This course will definitely be testing at times. By persevering, you will come out the other side stronger, more confident, more energized, more motivated, and more empowered.
You will leave with a clear understanding of the steps you need to take moving forwards in order to continue on the path of self-mastery. You will feel capable of achieving whatever goals you put your mind to. Friends and family will clearly notice the positive changes and they too will be positively affected.
This day is the rest day. You can visit Oxford, Henley, Marlow, or London.
This training will take place in Watlington, South Oxfordshire, UK. It is set in the beautiful English countryside.
You will be provided with daily three healthy meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On your rest day (Sunday), you can visit the nearby beautiful towns of Oxford, Henley, and Marlow. Each is only 20 minutes away.
Please book your flight to arrive at any airports in London. Then, there are a few options you can take such as car, coach, train, and etcetera.
Get the Oxford Tube coach to Lewknor. You will be collected from there (which is 5 minutes from Watlington).
