If you are looking to learn traditional Shaolin Kung Fu in a tranquil environment with a renowned master then look no more. We are a school that seeks to develop our students discipline, respect, and happiness, and grow the spirit of compassion through the training disciplines of Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Sanda, and Qi Gong.
We want to make your stay at our academy as enjoyable and comfortable as possible; we provide single rooms, at no extra cost, and all with access to wired internet. During summer we will provide you with an electric fan and during winter, an electric blanket and heater free of charge.
In room wired internet will be charged at 100 CNY per month. Our bathrooms have hot water all hours of the day; you can take a shower in the private cubicles whenever you want. We have western toilets and washing machines.
During your stay, you will be training in Shaolin Kung Fu, Sanda, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong. We welcome all students from around the world, of all levels, however, we expect everyone who comes to fully embrace the Kung Fu philosophy both physically and mentally by giving 110% effort for the duration of your stay. Our training schedule is rigorous; you will be training between 7 to 8 hours and have evening classes, Monday to Friday. During the week, you will not be given much free time as we want you to stay focused on your training, but you will have all weekend to recover and relax.
Qinglong Mountain Shaolin Kung Fu Academy wants you to get the most out of your stay while you are here. We believe that to truly understand and practice Kung Fu you should also embrace the culture that it came from which is why we teach all of our students Chinese Mandarin, Kung Fu theory, and Buddhism so you can better understand the essence of Kung Fu
During Kung Fu theory class, you will learn about how Kung Fu began and how it grew over time to many different types. You will be taught about the characteristics of the different types of Kung Fu, how you can tell them apart and why they use the movements in the way they do, along with an explanation of all the weapons that are used.
You will get the chance to learn how to prepare for Kung Fu competitions, how to judge if a candidate is good and how the final scores are calculated. Also, you will be taught how to prepare for a Sanda competition where you will be explained what techniques can give you the most points, when your best chance is to do certain movements and how to spot good openings. We believe this is a great opportunity to fully understand and further your knowledge and expertise in Kung Fu.
Chinese Buddhism has a long history. It embodies the Kung Fu spirit and ancient culture. Buddhism is a spiritual tradition, which focuses on personal spiritual development and the attainment of a deep insight into the true nature of life. This is why Qinglong Mountain Shaolin Kung Fu Adacemy teaches lessons with hope that you can take something from it.
It can teach you to train your mind to have clearer thinking, help integrate meditation, and spirituality into your life to obtain inner peace, gain a greater understanding of your actions and the actions of those around you, in order to react differently under stressful situations, among many other things.
It is believed at Qinglong Mountain Shaolin Kung Fu Academy that you must have a strong foundation to support your martial arts training. Master Shi Yan Ming will write an individual training plan within your time table where he will consider your skills, strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and goals. Once you have a good foundation of the basics skills, you can have more input into your training plan for example choosing weapons/forms you would like to learn.
Your training will take place in beautiful settings, of which is placed in the picturesque surroundings of Qinglong Mountains. Master Shi Yan Ming has opened this school in dedication of preserving the teachings of Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu and has chosen this area because of the peaceful surroundings and authenticity.
Vegetarian meals will be provided daily in 7 days a week. On special occassions such as festivals and birthdays, the masters and students will eat together.
Feixian is 40 km away from the academy and is very easy to visit on the weekends, it has many good restaurants, shops, and places to relax. 160 kinds of fruit are grown in and around Feixian so during the harvesting season you can buy many fresh fruit in a very cheap price.
Fexian is the hometown of the grotesque stones, a lot of which have the shape characteristics representing the Chinese zodiac signs. Researchers from 160 countries have come to study the anomalies. They have moved them from all over Feixian to one location, where you can visit and look at these beautiful stones.
The Immortal Temple, according to legend was built over 1000 years ago after a man went into the caves which the Temple is now built on. For many years this man meditated and practiced internal Kung Fu. One day he became immortal and left his earthly body to become God. To pay their respects the people of Feixian built a temple in his honor. The tree in the centre of the temple is believed to have started its life when he became immortal.
Linyi is the closest big city to the academy and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach. Linyi's economy is based around its wholesale markets. The Linyi Wholesale City is ranked 3rd in its category in China. The focal point of Linyi is the People's Square (Renmin Guangchang). Underneath it is a shopping center and entertainment facilities.
Just north of the city center is a park dedicated to Wang Xizhi. For a small entrance fee tourists can enjoy a pleasant walk and try Chinese calligraphy. Near the center of Linyi city is a museum, which houses some original bamboo strips from the Sun Tzu era and Sun Bin's Art of War is currently being displayed.
In 2005, Linyi drew international attention as a center of human rights abuses related to the enforcement of China's controversial family planning policies. Following widespread allegations of violence and coercion in excess of Chinese law, local human rights defender Chen Guangcheng filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of the victims.
The local Chinese courts refused to hear the case and imprisoned Chen Guangcheng on trumped up charges. Due in part to the severity and scope of these abuses Linyi has been used by activists to criticize China's violation of women's rights.
Qufu takes about 2 hours to travel to from the academy. It is the most famous historical and cultural city in Shangdong. Most famously know for being the hometown of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius. You can visit The Temple of Confucius, where he studied.
Qufu pays respects to this great philosopher by not building any building, which exceeds the height of Dancheng hall, this is the main hall of the temple. After his death he was buried at The Cemetery of Confucius, which is located at the north gate of Qufu and is the largest family cemetery in the world.
Jinan is the capital of Shandong province, and is located in the Midwest of the province. It takes about 6 hours from the academy but is easily accessible by train. There are many historical sites in Jinan City such as the ancient great wall of the Qi State, the colored sculptures in the Lingyan Temple, and so on.
Jinan is a great place to go to see some very typical festivals including the lantern festival in the Baotu Spring Park, the lotus festival in the Daming Lake park, and the double-nine festival on the Thousand-Buddha Mountain.
Getting to the Qinglong Mountain Shaolin Kung Fu Academy is very easy. The best way to get here is to fly to a major city such as Beijing or Shanghai. Then you can either take a domestic flight or train to Linyi. After you arrive we will pick you up with an English speaking representative.
