Muay Thai training

A serious student who puts in the required effort can expect to drastically improve overall fitness and ability within a short period of time. This is truly a perfect environment for learning Muay Thai. Beginners need not worry as you will be allowed to go at your own pace until you are ready to step up the pace (a lot sooner than you thought possible!).

If you already have some martial arts experience, then Muay Thai Chinnarach is the place to fine tune your skills. Experienced fighters will be able to take their skills to the next level and fights can certainly be arranged if you wish. Your skills will be assessed and a suitable opponent will be found for your abilities.

Muay Thai Chinnarach is the ideal environment for absolute beginners. The trainers have extensive experience with first timers. They will put you at ease and allow you to develop rapidly.

Each student will receive training based on their experience and fitness level. Although the training is hard (but worth it), you will not be made to perform an exercise or activity you are uncomfortable with. The trainers take the students' welfare seriously and work hard to minimise injuries. A few bruises are inevitable however!

Muay Thai

Muay Thai or Thai boxing is a form of hard martial art mainly practiced in Thailand. Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand, and it is the country’s national sport. It is an ancient martial art and arguably one of the kingdom’s most striking national icons. Muay Thai is referred to as “the science of eight limbs”, as the hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art.

Muay Thai fighters (Nak Muay) are known for their toughness and fitness. Their training regime toughens their bodies so that they can give and receive blows that many other fighting sports do not even allow.

Overflowing with color and ceremony as well as exhilarating moments of clenched-teeth action, the best matches serve up a blend of such skill and tenacity that one is tempted to view the spectacle as emblematic of Thailand’s centuries-old devotion to independence in a region where most other countries fell under European colonial yoke.

Muay Thai fighters are renowned for their determination in ignoring pain and injury that would stop other fighters. Even a broken jaw will not always stop them. If they can stand, then they can, and will, and fight!

Muay Thai Chinnarach

Under Chin's expert supervision and tutelage, you'll train with other students from around the world alongside the Thai fighters who live at the gym. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting but also serious when it comes to training. You will learn real Muay Thai the right way from experienced former and current fighters. As well as group lessons, you can also be trained one-on-one by a Muay Thai legend if you wish.

Not only will you learn from the former two-time world champion, 'King of the South', Chinnarach, you will also receive expert Muay Thai boxing coaching from former Bangkok champions and veterans of Lumpinee and Ramajamnern stadiums, the very pinnacle of professional Muay Thai. The gym has more experienced and successful fighters to learn from than any other Muay Thai boxing gym on Koh Phangnan (as well as the only former world champion on the island).

The gym is easy to reach from any part of the island and there is also choices for accommodation nearby. Many students choose to balance beach life with Muay Thai and stay at a nearby bungalow while some who want to train harder may live within earshot of the gym. Muay Thai Chinnarach can help you find the perfect place or you can do it yourself.

Everything you need is located within walking distance including great restaurants, shopping, banks, pharmacy, etc. All you need to do is show up and start your Muay Thai adventure! You can bring your own gear if you have it or better yet, load up with top quality equipment here. The gym has everything available for very reasonable prices.

Whether you want to learn Muay Thai for self-defense, get in shape, or because you want to fight in Thailand, Muay Thai Chinnarach will make sure you get the most from your time with them.

  • Chinnarach

Chinnarach (Master Chin's fighting name) has fought in over 250 professional Muay Thai fights, winning 185 fights. He enjoyed incredible popularity as a national superstar and a world Muay Thai champion, winning many title bouts against all challengers. A veteran of both Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums, many of Chin's fights were broadcasted nationwide on Channel 7 Thai TV. He has also fought in Australia and Malaysia sharing Muay Thai Boxing with the world. A true Muay Thai master, Chin will get the best out of you and teach you the balance, control, and technique both physical and mental.

Muay Thai Chinnarach is based in Koh Phangan, Thailand. A true island paradise, Koh Phangan is located in Southern Thailand, surrounded by the pristine waters of the Gulf of Thailand. While Koh Phangan is, perhaps, best known for the world's famous full moon party, the island has so much more to offer. From bamboo beach bungalows to luxurious resorts and spas and everything in between, this beautiful island has a place for all.

Koh Phangan remains true to its own style. Unlike some other tourist destinations in the South of Thailand, Koh Phangan keeps the atmosphere of real Thailand. The island enjoys a much more laid back atmosphere than most tourist areas in Thailand.

Koh Phangnan makes an excellent location for a family holiday. The island's quieter pace and friendly atmosphere mean everyone in the family can find something to do, from kayaking, snorkeling, or even Muay Thai lessons. Or, if that sounds like too much work, find a quiet beach, tie up a hammock, and soak up some sun while taking in some of the best ocean views anywhere in the world or treat yourself to an authentic Thai massage, right on the beach!

A true island paradise, Koh Phangan is ready to host your dream vacation.

"We love it here! Due to time constraint, we only had one beginner session here but I'm definitely coming back if I ever visited Koh Phangan in the future. The environment is very homey with very friendly and supportive coaches. Very recommendable to those wanting to experience Muay Thai firsthand."

"I spent one whole month training with Chin and the rest of the gang here and had a fantastic experience. The trainers really know what they're doing - you will learn lots and get a great workout every session. They also all have a great sense of humour and we had a really fun time training together. I started as a complete beginner and it's tough but totally doable. You will learn a lot and definitely get more fit in the process. "

"I had the pleasure to train there for six months in total and I have to say it was great! It was the real Muay Thai with many coaches, good equipment, and at a nice place with nice people. Chin, the boss, is a former world champion and very ambitious in his work! You can train, eat, and live there and the people take care of you in your training and in the time after your training, it felt like family! I hope I can go back soon!"

"What a week with Chin and his trainers! I don't know where to start. The training is for all levels and both the morning and afternoon sessions give you a great workout and time for one on one with a trainer on the pads.About the family, I've never trained at a gym like this where it is so easy to get on with everyone. Chin and the trainers are so welcoming and the whole group bond together because of this. Outside of the training, Chin and the trainers take people to the local Muay Thai shows and also take you to the full moon party with others in the gym.Overall, I had an amazing week here and cannot wait to go back. I would not train at any other gyms than here as it has been the best week of my life!"

  • Review by Russ from Singapore

"I recently spent three weeks at this gym and had an amazing time. I opted for the two-a-day classes and got an amazing workout every time. I was an absolute beginner in the world of Muay Thai but they were able to instill in me all of the basic techniques associated with the sport. Moreover, the amount of energy and endurance I had at the end of the three weeks was phenomenal. In addition to the training, I was also invited a couple times to watch some professional fights on the island - super entertaining and you get to learn a lot about the origins of the sport. It is an amazing way to unplug and do some training with some of the nicest guys I have ever met."
