Master Qu began to learn Shaolin at 9 and Gong style Baguazhang at 11. He studied Tanglangquan under 5th generation Master Xu Wanlong and was accepted as his 6th closed-door disciple, learning the styles full empty-hand and weapons curriculum, particularly excelling in the double-hand straight sword. He later spent many years studying other Kung Fu styles including Xingyiquan, Taijiquan, and Yiquan, visiting and crossing hands with famous martial artists throughout mainland China, and incorporated many elements from other styles in Taiji Meihua Shuaishou Tanglangquan, his distinctive style.
Master Wang, born in 1970, started martial arts at age 8, beginning with Shaolin styles. Clearly talented, he was accepted as a student by a famous Shaolin master, studying Baguazhang, Taijiquan, various types of Qigong, Shuaijiao, and Sanda in parallel. Later he studied with a famous Mantis master, gaining exposure to Shuaishou, Plum Blossom Mantis, and Seven-star varieties of Tanglangquan. A former special-ops soldier in Chinas Peoples Liberation Army, there can be no doubt that he knows how to apply his many skills in life-or-death situations.
