Kombat Group is a modern Thai boxing school in Pattaya, designed for combat sports and built with the same concept of the traditional Muay Thai Boxing Camps. Muay Thai courses are taught by knowledgeable and experienced trainers who are champions themselves and can help you improve your skills and endurance. Each daily session includes three to five rounds of private training time with a champion trainer. Courses are divided into three levels: Base (for the beginners and everyone who want to join the discipline for the first time), Intermediate (for those who have practiced without being professionals), and Advanced (for professionals).
Every day, except Sunday, the training sessions occur both in the morning and evening. Each session is composed of a series of activities including: warm up, learning new techniques, bag work with different combinations of kicks, elbows and punches, clinching, abdominal work, stretching, and the highly anticipated one-on-one ring time with your trainer.
You will find a 600 square meter gym fully-equipped with three boxing rings, a large heavy bag area, speedballs, and other boxing-specific workout equipment. There is also a modern gym for fitness and body building, a swimming pool for relaxation, and a restaurant for daily nutrition. Experienced dietitians will be at your disposal to help you find the best diet to follow in order to reach the best physical form that will also optimize the energy you will need for training. Guests are welcome for short term sessions, but there are also rooms available on-site which are fitted with all modern conveniences for guests staying for longer periods.
The maximum participants in the group is 50.
You can choose from five different room types - available with a fan or air-conditioned. All rooms are clean, comfortable, and include all the basics you need, like free Wi-Fi.
Kombat Group Thailand has a large private garden where you can spend time in between training sessions reading or socializing with the other guests from all over the world. There will be eight coaches during the training time to guarantee that everyone gets the attention needed to improve the skills. They will follow you during the running class around the lake (optional), during the Muay Thai style warm up, during the bags workout, and during the Muay Thai and clinching technique. You will have a one-by-one training with the pads (three to five rounds) and, for the advanced level, two trainers for Muay Thai and western boxing sparring.
Though strange to Western ears, the Thai language is not as difficult as you may think. Learning a few basic words will make your stay in Thailand more rewarding. Comprising 44 consonants and 32 vowels and diphthongs, Thai, or Pasa Thai, is the national language of Thailand. Dialects vary in the north, northeast, and south. Based on contemporary Mon and Khmer, the script in Thailand was developed around eight centuries ago.
The language in Thailand has five tones: mid, low, falling, rising, and high. This often intimidates foreigners, but with the practice basic words and phrases are relatively easy to master. Learning some Thai can enhance your stay in Thailand, and even if your first attempts evoke a few giggles, most people will appreciate your effort.
Transliterations from Thai script to roman are sometimes confusing. With no clear rules, one Thai word may have several roman spellings. However, signs along the way might also point to Lumpini or Lumpeenee Park, yet they are one and the same.
Harder still, ph is pronounced as p; not f, and th read as t. The workouts at Kombat Group are divided by levels of fitness. Everyone can train, regardless of their sex, age, and physical condition. There are three levels available: advanced (for professionals), intermediate (for those who have practiced but are not professionals), and base (for the beginners).
At the end of each course, a certificate of attendance is issued. Through these programs, you will have the possibility to fight in the stadium in Pattaya and in the big ones in Bangkok, such as Lumpinee or Rajadmnern!
Krav Maga strikes both open hand and closed fist strikes to stun any attacker. At Kombat Group Thailand, you will learn how you can escape from chokes, grabs, and bear hug attacks using Krav Maga. You will also train on the different Krav Maga weapon attack defenses and disarms, and on how you will defend yourself from baseball stick club attacks, self-defense for knife hold ups, and knife threats.
The course also includes Krav Maga gun disarms technique for disarming and removing weapons from a pistol and long gun threats. Krav Maga ground fighting survival and how to defend yourself when on the ground and get back to standing position are also added to the course curriculum.
Kombat Group Thailand's Krav Maga course also deals with the modern defensive tactics from Krav Maga and other premier self-defense methods; how to deal with pre-fight situations, how to avoid and escape street attacks, and how to talk an attacker out of attacking.
Krav Maga Thailand also incorporates tactics and technique from other world class self-defense systems, hand to hand combat, and military combative modern. It is combative as inspired by the original WWII Combative of W.E. Fairbairn. Lastly, Kombat Group Thailand also has Krav Maga fight training sparring sessions incorporating kickboxing sparring and training.

Krav Maga was originally developed as a military combative hand to hand combat system for the Israeli Defense Force I.D.F. who needed a fast to learn, simple, and effective fighting system for I.D.F. Special Force Commando Units. Today, the I.D.F. trains his troops in Krav Maga which had been battle tested to the max.
In recent years, due to the effectiveness of Krav Maga as a front line fighting system many of the world's leading militaries, police, and L.E.O. S.W.A.T. teams such as the F.B.I., U.S. Army, L.A.P.D., and a host of European nations' militaries and police forces have added Krav Maga into the training programs for their personnel mainly due to the short time it takes to learn Krav Maga self-defense basics and the lethal nature of Krav Maga techniques.
Thousands and thousands of ordinary people all over the world have taken up Krav Maga to give them proven self-defense and defense tactics skills safe in the knowledge that they can protect themselves and their loved ones from violent street attacks, robbers, muggers, and fight off assaults from violent thugs.

MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. MMA fighters can benefit greatly from many of the Muay Thai techniques from the stand up striking skills to clinching (a less well known, but very important aspect of Muay Thai which involves taking an opponent to the ground). However, to cater specifically to the needs of the growing army of MMA fighters, Kombat Group Thailand now employs an English western boxing instructor Mark Griffith, very effective to improve the boxing technique part for the MMA fights.
Kombat Group Thailand, therefore, provides the MMA fighter a unique opportunity to train in all the areas of his sport, by the best instructors in each particular area; either Muay Thai striking techniques from Thai champions or wrestling techniques from an instructor with over 20 years' experience. Nowhere else is this training offered under one roof or with the flexibility adapting the training to an individual's needs.
In collaboration with the West Coast Jujitsu, Kombat Group Thailand periodically organizes and promotes seminars with Brian Espinoza, leader of the WCJ, and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Learn MMA submission holds, guard position, mount position, locks, sweeps, takedowns, throws, escapes, and reverses that are the staple of good Jiu-Jitsu in this MMA training program.
In Muay Thai, when you strike with the elbow, you ideally want to hit with the sharp pointy bone. If you were to hold your arm in front of you as if you were throwing a hook punch, the part of the elbow that you want to strike with is the sharp pointy bone on the bottom. Make sure in Muay Thai that you are striking with this part of the elbow rather than flush or with the top part of the bone; you should hold your open palm towards the target.
In Thai Boxing, it is very important that you keep your guard high and tight when executing elbows. If you throw an elbow, rest assured in Muay Thai you will be given one in turn. Keep your Muay Thai guard high so that your wrists are at eyebrow level. In Thai boxing, do not reach for the elbow strike. With very few exceptions, the elbows should be thrown at clinching range.
Grasp the Muay Thai pads so that your palm is towards your opponent, not towards your face. When you are the Muay Thai pad holder, stand in your normal stance, facing your opponent. The Thai boxing pads are designed so that the Muay Thai boxer can train realistically against a human opponent.
For one, you can have the Muay Thai kicker alternate kicks for an entire round. Left-right-left-right. The Muay Thai kicker needs to keep up a good solid pace. Do not rest in between unless necessary! Don't be lazy! Most of the time, when holding the pads for Muay Thai roundhouse kicks, you hold them at mid body level. Even if you use Thai boxing style kicks mainly to attack the legs, you will benefit from practicing them higher, as it requires you to work harder.
Have the Muay Thai boxer practice free standing straight knees, or clinch knees. A student doing Thai boxing should do a skipping footwork to alternate knees. For instance, if I just knee with my right, as my right foot drops to the floor, the left skips backward to load up the left knee. Again, you can also drill multiple knees on the same side. Instead of dropping the knee to the front, bring it all the way back, continually loading for the next knee.
Muay Thai pads are not conducive to push kicking drills. Either allow the Thai boxing student to push kick you or invest in a belly protector. If you invest in a belly protector, stick to the above brands and try to find Velcro straps. The Muay Thai pad holder has a great deal of responsibility to the Thai boxing student, as the Muay Thai pad holder dictates the pace of the workout. You should push the Muay Thai student.
Keeping in mind all of the above advice for the Muay Thai pad holder. Let's move on to combination drills. When directing Thai boxing combination drills, the Muay Thai pad holder should vary between having the attacker execute the techniques or combos for power, or for speed. Do not change in the middle of the round.
Muay Thai camps will go into variations after basic have been established. Remember, with the low roundhouse kick of Muay Thai, the target area ranges from a Thai boxer's ankle up to his upper thigh. You will try to break this up into a few steps, but remember, when this Muay Thai kick is actually executed, all the steps flow together into one motion.
Step sideways at a 45-degree angle to the intended Muay Thai opponent. As you step, your stepping foot should start to rotate. As you step, you should lean your body in the direction that you step. This helps get your body momentum going, which is a key ingredient to this Muay Thai kick.
Your entire body most rotates on the ball of your foot. Your leg should be straight (or very close to straight) during the entire Muay Thai kick. As you rotate and kick, as in all Muay Thai, your body should stay leaned away from the kicking leg. This acts as a counterbalance of sorts and gets the weight of your upper body behind this strong and powerful Muay Thai kick.
When the leg strikes your intended Muay Thai target, it should strike with the lower portion of the shinbone and/or the very upper part of the instep. The momentum of this Muay Thai kick should follow through the target. This Muay Thai kick does not stop at impact!
Following through on this kick and all Muay Thai is probably the most important facet of Muay Thai. Think of your leg as a baseball bat, swing it all the way through you opposing Muay Thai opponent, attempting to break through everything in your path.
Do not attempt any Muay Thai kick if you are standing too far away from your Thai boxing opponent. This forces you to step into your opposing Muay Thai athlete when covering the distance, and gets your body's momentum traveling in the wrong direction.
When you lean away and perform this Muay Thai kick, lean far enough away so that your head is out of reach of your Muay Thai opponents punches. Especially during all Muay Thai low kicks, as you have to stand closer to your opponent while executing them.
Swing your leg in a "dead legged" style using your hip, very similar to kicking a soccer ball or football. In Muay Thai, you should never snap your leg, like in karate. Follow all the way through your intended Muay Thai target. If you were to miss, the kick would literally spin you around! When this Muay Thai kick impacts with your Muay Thai target, the heel of your support foot should be pointing at your target.
Remember, for those who have studied kicking styles other Muay Thai, the impact area is now the lower shinbone. That means you have to adjust your kicking range to reflect the Muay Thai style. This a small but a very important adjustment. In Muay Thai, the support leg bends when kicking low, the lower your kick, the lower you bend your support leg.
Muay Thai boxers do typically drop one of their hands when executing a Muay Thai roundhouse kick. The reason, as you may have guessed, is for both leverage and added power. Though you were referring only to the lead side Muay Thai roundhouse kick, and the dropping of the lead hand, the same is true for the rear legged Muay Thai roundhouse kick.
For one, Muay Thai roundhouse kicks from the lead leg are naturally weaker because they do not benefit anywhere near as much from the body's powerful rotation during the Muay Thai kick.
Clinch fighting is the primary focus of many combat sports such as Muay Thai and it is also a fundamental part of mixed martial arts. The nature of the clinch fighting in each sport depends on the rules involved.
Muay Thai puts much emphasis on strikes from the clinch while avoiding takedowns. Similarly, to all is that they allow the grappling necessary to form a clinch. Others combat sports like western boxing or kickboxing only allow clinching for a short time or do not allow it at all.
When doing Muay Thai kicking, the heavy bag and Thai pads will begin the preparation, you should kick over 100 times each or around that figure. Before your Muay Thai training every so often and massage the shins or while in Thailand seek out the popular Thai Massage, the vigorous massaging will keep the blood flowing into them. This promotes faster healing of the bruised flesh and any damage to the bone suffered during this Muay Thai training.
Christian Daghio made his debut as a professional fighter in 1993 and by the year 2000, he became a pro Muay Thai European champion and became a pro Muay Thai world champion the next year. By 2002, Christian became the first Italian to fight and won at the famous Lumpini And in Bangkok. The next year, he became a Muay Thai Boxing Champion at the Thepprasit And in Pattaya and also became the first Italian to fight at the King's Cup of Thailand in Bangkok. Currently a professional athlete in Thailand, he is the founder of Pattaya Kombat Group. He will be present in every training session.
Yai is a trainer for professional fighters and in advanced Western Boxing. His record includes 180 fights. He won the title of Champion of Chonburi Province.
Poo is a trainer for professional boxers and striking teacher for MMA. His record includes 250 fights, of which he won 237. He won two titles: Champion of South Thailand and Champion of Rayong Province.
Yut’s specialty is training for beginners. He has a record of 180 matches with 150 won. He has gained the following titles: Champion channel 7; n.1 channel 3; and Champion of Chonburi province.
Joe is currently fighting in Western Boxing. His records in the amateur league is 44 fights, of which he won 30 and lost only 14. In the professional circuit, he has had 12 fights, winning half, and losing 3.
Gerry's specialty is as a Krav Maga and self-defense instructor. You will learn Krav Maga from Gerry Nolan who has been training in self-defense martial arts since 1984. Gerry is originally from The Republic of Ireland and has 26+ years reality martial arts experience in Mugendo Kickboxing Karate holding a 4th Dan black belt and is one of only a few people ever to be awarded the prestigious Mugendo Bodyguard Certification in recognition of his real world self-defense experience certified by Prof. George Canning 10th Dan.
“Nueng's specialty is sparring and combat techniques training for beginners. His record is 120 matches, 90 won. He gained titles as #4 Lumpini And; 2 times Fairtex And Champion; WKN Intercontinental Champion (Belarus 2007); and fought in Belarus, Russia, Australia, and Italy.
Rok's specialty is training for professionals. His record is 400 matches, 380 won. He is a three-time Rajadmern champion.
Moon's specialties are clinching and sparring. His record is 190 matches 170 won. He gained titles such as Champion Fairtex, N.3 Rajadamnern, and Champion of Chonburi province.
Dodong's specialty is Western boxing. His record as an amateur is 80 fights with 60 won 20 lost, while as a pro is 25 fights with 16 won, 7 lost, and 2 draw.
Apichai specializes in Western boxing and K1. He holds the record of 350 matches. He has fought and won against Jod Mod and Ramazan. He is also the first Thai to fight in the K1 circuit. He has fought in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Finland, and the Czech Republic.

If you are overweight, the chances are you haven't quite managed to establish the eating habits that keep you healthy and fit. When you join the weight loss program, this is bound to change. During your stay, your three daily meals consist of fresh fruit and vegetables, quality meat, or fish and eggs - fresh foods to fuel your body and mind.
A typical daily eating plan for weight loss could look like this:
08:00 - 11:00 Coffee or tea and breakfast: Choice of protein shake, omelet with vegetables, or protein pancake and fresh fruit. Some people eat before training and some just drink coffee and eat after training - the choice is yours.
13:00 - 15:00 Lunch: Fresh fruit, salad with fish or meat
19:30 - 21:00 Dinner: Soup, grilled meat or fish with salad and fresh fruit
Breakfast for non-diet menu includes choice of oatmeal, scrambled eggs, American breakfast or cornflakes with milk (coffee or tea, fresh fruit, toast, and fruit juice). If you need a taxi, the fees will be 3,500 THB for transfers from the airport to the camp and vice versa. 2,000 THB for transfers from the airport to the camp only, and 1,500 THB for transfers from the camp to the airport.

"I have just completed a week of Muay Thai and Krav Maga training at the Pattaya Kombat Camp in Thailand. First of all, what an amazing ten days! I've been raving about it from the first training session to the last. The camp is well run and organised by Christian and Barbara, with training sessions morning and evening to avoid the worst of the mid day heat. "
"Kombat Camp has recently changed location and been refurbished hence, the rooms and equipment are all relatively new. Lots of punch bags, skipping ropes, a few weights, and bikes three full size rings an MMA cage, as well as large work out area. Everything you need is available including new gloves, shin guards, wraps, etc. and can be purchased at reasonable prices. There are also spares to borrow so no need to buy them.They even have a little first aid which I made use of on day three. "

"Food is pretty basic but nutritious, three meals a day are included in the price, and although basic and limited choice, it's good value. You can always pay a little more and get some extra or take a trip into town. You may struggle for choice if your a vegan. On Sundays, there is no training. More importantly, no meals provided, so you have to fend for yourself. A little inconvenient given the remote location but a good excuse to get out of camp to explore after an intense six days training. "
"Good tip buy some water and snacks for the week when you go! Training was tough in the heat but the coaches are sensitive to this and you go at your own pace. There are guests at every level of fitness and I found everyone really supportive, guests and coaches, we all helped each other get through. The most surprising aspect was the camaraderie. "
