Capoeira is a Brazilian art form, which combines fight, dance, rhythm, and movement. Capoeira is a dialog between players - a conversation through movement that can take on many shades of meaning. The details of Capoeira's origins and early history are still a matter of debate among historians, but it is clear that African slaves played a crucial role in the development of the art form. Some historians claim that slaves used capoeira's dance-like appearance as a way to hide their training of combat and self-defense. Capoeira's many styles come out of the context of two principle branches that were formalized in the first half of the twentieth century following Capoeira's legalization.
There are 3 excursions included in the 1-week program. They are generally made by quad or buggy, with or without a guide, and allow you to discover 3 magnificent sites: The Almecegas Lagoon, a freshwater lagoon surrounded by the splendid tropical vegetation of its fazenda installed on its banks, the Flexeiras, a beautiful beach with crystalline water, and Munda, a turquoise lagoon opening onto the sea, a breathtaking beauty.
Located 124 km from Fortaleza, near Paracuru, Lagoinha Beach is certainly one of the postcards of Ceará . With its 15 km long beach, the landscape consists of a broad band of fine sand, freshwater lagoons, coconut palms, and breathtaking green sea. Who visits Lagoinha feels that this is the beach of his dreams, a cinema landscape scattered with Jangadas (colored Brazilian rafts ) and very peaceful and happy people.
The site was once a refuge for French pirates, and the legend says that, in the dunes of Lagoa da Barra, treasures were buried, but nobody has ever found anything. That said, with so much natural wealth, who needs treasures?
At one end of Lagoinha is the most beautiful scenery of the beach, and maybe of the whole Ceara. Between two red sand dunes, palm fringed beach form a half-moon ending in offshore reefs .
On the hills, the small fishing village has preserved its authenticity and calm while taking a certain modernity through the near Fortaleza city. You will find all the amenities, a few bars, restaurants, pousadas, mini- supermarket, a pharmacy, a lan house for internet,… around a pretty central square where people gather in the evening.
Apart from the kite, practiced on the beach in a still fairly quiet water thanks to the shape of the bay, or in the lagoon with flat water, regular and steady wind and a lot of space guaranteed, you can rent a buggy or a quad to visit stunning scenery (dunes, rivers, lakes, etc.) or surf in the waves in short-board or kite strapless with the locals.
Brazil, sixteen times as large as France, is in itself a continent in the South American immensity. The exuberance of nature is matched only by the variety of its landscapes, and it is on the east coast where you will find countless kite spots, spread over nearly 2000 km of beach, crossing the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Ceara, Piaui, and Maranhao.
In this sunny and beautiful by nature Brazil, it is in Ceara that you will find the most windy spots, beautiful white sand beaches, wild, huge, virgin, for the pleasure of the eyes and senses. Dunes, fresh water lagoons, tall coconut trees, orange cliffs, air and water at the ideal temperature, the scenery is total and all invites to relaxation and well-being.
Beyond the ideal conditions for kiting, you will succumb to the charms of Brazil enjoying a caipirinha or a fresh fruit juice at sunset, eat grilled fish and freshly caught seafood in a cozy atmosphere, and enjoy the friendliness of its inhabitants.

Brazilians are very friendly and always ready to start a conversation with you , but a only a few of them speak or understand English. Take a small dictionary if you do not speak Portuguese and help yourself with your knowledge of Spanish that Brazilians understand quite well. The Portuguese of Brazil is a beautiful language that you will enjoy to practice, even if it is only to wish a “Bom dia!” (Good morning).
