For many people who try boxing, it’s their ultimate dream to compete in a real fight. Come to JP Boxing Gym to help you make that dream come true! Submerge yourself in Muay Thai by training, eating and sleeping -and repeating- at their family-run boxing camp. In a minimum of 3 months, the skilled instructors will get you fight-ready. It is said ‘minimum’ because the speed of individual progress cannot be guaranteed. If you have zero experience in contact sports, it may take longer. Also, ‘fight-ready’ does not mean you have to fight - just feeling ready and skilled is enough for a lot of people who practice the art of Muay Thai. Whether you get in the ring or not, this extensive and constructive program will get you fighting fit while you greatly improve your boxing skills.
You will be accommodated in an air-conditioned private room at the on-site camp. In case the camp is fully booked, you will get a comfortable room in the nearby hotel.
Your hosts are proud to have the best trainers for both Muay Thai and Western boxing, who are able to train across the board from beginner level to getting you fight ready. The trainers including Kru Jay have trained professional fighters at Olympic level.
The warm ups consist of skipping drills, running and dynamic stretching, they have specific technique classes from basic to advanced, bag work with pads and drills, this can be gym based or on location such as down by the river. In the afternoon you’ll learn techniques for clinching and sparring followed by cool down and deep stretches.
Then let your hosts know! They will take you through specific training to get you fight ready, they have been training competitive fighters in this area for many years so you’re in safe hands.
Wai Kroo / Ram Muay is a ritualistic and traditional dance carried out before Muay Thai fighters engage in the ring. The Wai Kroo is an act of respect to show honor to the opponent and his respective teacher. You will learn the Wai Kroo during your stay.
They have a fully versed gym and crossfit area, they hold regular cross fit and functional training classes too. They’ve found this an excellent combination to increase cardiac capabilities as well as overall strength. At the end of each session you can join in for “Ab Blast” where they take you through 5 to 10 minutes of intense core based exercises.
Please note this is a sample schedule and is subject to change.
Use your free time wisely! Book in an extra one on one to hone your skills, take a trip into the city centre to soak up some of the historic culture, visit the coffee shops and markets or get a massage. There are many beautiful places nearby to explore and we’ll be more than happy to help you plan your afternoon.

Phitsanulok is one of the oldest cities in Thailand, founded over 600 years ago. As the crossroad between the northern and central regions of the country, it has long been important both for political and strategic reasons and was fought over many times in centuries past. But don't worry, the town is currently very peaceful and relaxed - or 'sebai', as the Thai say.
The brand new camp is located close to the town center, so you will find all you need in the area. Both 7-eleven and Tesco are a few hundred meters away. Get a coffee, go for food, walk to town or get a Grab or a lift from the staff that will take you to a local spa or pool in just a few minutes. In the morning, they often go for a 30-minute run at the river banks next to the camp before the 7:00 a.m. training.
JP's cool cafe serves up healthy twists on traditional Thai food, with an occasional more indulging treat. You can expect dishes such as Pad Thai, green curry, stir-fry, sweet and sour, sticky rice, fruit plates, fried egg, and salads. They usually serve several different dishes, so there's always something you'll like.
Vegetarian, vegan or anything in between? No worries, they will make sure you won't be hungry or wonder "where do I get my protein?" at any moment! Half of the staff eats plant-based or vegetarian, and they know what an active person needs to perform. Both physically and mentally: Thai cuisine understands that food nurtures the body and the soul.
Please let JP's know if you have any dietary requirements or requests and these will be catered for! Any allergies or preferences? Do tell them!

Phitsanulok has its own airport: Phitsanulok Airport (PHS), so this makes a quick journey (one hour) if you choose to fly there from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Several flights leave each day, and if you book in time, this journey costs you under 700 THB (extra for check-in luggage). Another (less recommended) option is flying to Sukhothai Airport (THS). JP Boxing Gym will pick you up from either airport for free!
Flying into Bangkok and want to come straight to the camp by car? Book your flight to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Don Mueang Airport (DMK). They can arrange a private transfer to collect you from the airport arrivals and bring you to the camp. They can also pick you up from any other address in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, like your hotel. Pick up by a car from Bangkok costs 4,500 THB while pick up from Chiang Mai costs 5,500 THB.
Go to Mo Chit bus station and get on the first class bus to Phitsanulok. Several buses leave throughout the day, on the hour. The journey will be about six hours. Tell the JP team when you arrive and they will come to pick you up from the bus station.
This will take around 6.5 hours. Phitsanulok is well connected with several cities and trains go throughout the day. Make sure you get a first or second class ticket; without aircon, it might be a sweaty journey. Tell JP team what train you're on and they will be there to pick you up at the train station for free.
Minibus is the final option, but not the most comfortable one usually. If you do decide to go by minivan, they will pick you up from the minivan station for free.
