"Mike has a long-standing experience as a martial artist, has experienced and mastered many (karate, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Escrima), in order to derive a pragmatic philosophy and approach of fighting: forget about the fancy moves or unrealistic ones and focus on the 10%-20% moves that are efficient. Though I am sure he can also teach those movie-like moves. Mike knows how to adapt his training to one's technical and physical level. He is also a very likable person, who has been living in the Philippines for a few years now - always nice to discuss with him. Accommodation is rustic but perfectly fine (PV panels are there to provide electricity). The location (Sabang) is really nice with its beach, its jungle trails, its mangroves, and the famous underground river. For beginners, bring some basic MMA gloves, as Mike tends to practice without them, which is not easy when hands have not been conditioned."
