Haramara Retreat Center is an exclusive, intimate, and secluded seaside retreat, offering superior mind, body, and spirit experiences along with sensual tropical harmony to every guest. Haramara ensures relaxing and renewing yoga and wellness retreats, as well as professional retreats, teacher trainings, and workshops.

Haramara has been built without mechanical equipment that compromises the virgin jungle. Every structure has been hand-built, using traditional construction methods. The planning took into consideration the environment and the quality of your experience.

Boutique

The boutique offers a quaint shopping experience for unique handmade jewelry, gifts, and clothing. The eclectic one-of-a-kind items in the boutique are locally sourced and selected especially with guests in mind.

Cabañas

Scattered across the beautiful tropical hillside, each individual cabaña has been hand-built with all natural materials. They offer exceptional views of the ocean and jungle canopy. Each cabaña is situated to offer privacy and seclusion, while still taking advantage of the spectacular views.

Cabañas have been designed with your comfort in mind. Enjoy the rustic luxury of any of the spacious lodges, which feature comfortable beds with hand woven sheets, gauzy sheer curtains to filter the sunlight, and oil lamps and candles for softly lit evenings. Most cabañas have private hammocks for lazy afternoon naps.

Each cabaña has its own unique and individually designed private bathroom with hot water, monogrammed towels, and an open air shower with a view.

If you prefer a double or triple room, please try to find someone to room with you to make reservations easier. If we are not able to locate anyone to room with you, you will have the option of joining the Dorm Cabaña or your own private cabaña. Quadruple lodges are also available for four people upon request.

Dining room

Placed amidst the jungle canopy, the spacious open air dining room, hand-built with a soaring roof and handcrafted hardwood floors, is situated near the top of the property, in the perfect location facing west to enjoy the jungle and ocean views throughout the entire day. Eat breakfast here listening to the birds, enjoy a quiet lunch at midday, and linger over dinner while watching the sunset.

Dormitory

The dormitory has been designed to accommodate up to eight people in a shared bedroom and bathroom facility. You will enjoy the same features of the cabañas, but in a large open room, with individual beds for each person. There are two bathrooms in the dormitory, one at each end, to accommodate up to four people each. In each bathroom, there are two showers, two sinks, and one toilet. There is daily housekeeping service for both the cabañas and the dormitory.

Terrace

The terrace is located below the dining room, just in front of the boutique, with the same wonderful west facing view. With comfortable chairs and umbrellas, it offers a quiet place to sit, read or write in your journal, to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset, or to connect with new and old friends.

Yoga shalas

On two separate knolls, each with a different, but expansive view, sit the two magnificent yoga shalas. Both yoga shalas are positioned to take advantage of the panoramic and ever changing views of the lush mountains and vast ocean, while also taking advantage of the soothing ocean breezes.

The Sunrise Shala sits at the top of the property and is fully open air and unenclosed. The Sunset Shala is also fully open air, but can be fully enclosed with folding doors. There is no electricity in the cabanas. They are illuminated at night with oil lamps and candles. There are no fans or air conditioning in the cabanas.

If you want to read at night, you will need to bring a book light with you. There is no outdoor lighting, so you will need to carry a flashlight or use a headlamp at night. There is, however, electricity in the yoga pavilion and the restaurant for recharging batteries.

Chill’asana retreat welcomes all levels of experience. You don't need to be a yogi or a martial artist, you just need to be a human being interested in learning, exploring, and growing. Basic familiarity with yoga is recommended, but not required.

Asana, in Sanskrit, means pose or posture. The retreat's name is representative of the vision of bringing people together to share a rejuvenating week of yoga, martial arts, outdoor adventures, and significant chill time in a luxurious, but eco-friendly environment.

There will be two yoga classes a day, martial arts workshops (including elements from Malaysian and Indonesian Silat, Filipino Kali, Capoeira), zenza flow, and several group excursions, leaving the rest of the time for you to make new friends, unplug, and reconnect.

There will be free time for you to chill in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, read in a hammock by your cabaña, or go try water sports. You will make it your ideal vacation yourself.

Zenza flow

Zenza flow somatic approach is a very progressive practice that starts where yoga ends, savasana. A movement meditation, zenza flow enlivens presence and supports embodiment. Experience moving from relaxation through sequential movement flow in a state of active rest and conscious surrender. Zenza flow fosters integrated function and synergy of the body as a whole. Moving from support, you are invited to restore the nervous system, rehabilitate basic coordination, and recover the essential self as you inhale and exhale, move and witness, connect and discover, and unravel and develop.

There will be several group excursions during this retreat. They will include jungle hikes, canopy zip line tours, visits to the town of Sayulita, and hikes to private beaches.

  • Review by a traveler

"This experience was completely transformative to the well being on my soul. The connections that were made with 35 strangers from all over the United states and Canada were authentic and absent of ego. We became a family almost instantly! I felt comfortable and supported and encouraged to be my true self. I am forever grateful for Nathania, Paul and Monica because they had a vision and held their vision into its fruition. Thank you all for having the courage to dream big! I will travel anywhere to be apart of such a beautiful and brilliant team. Thank you"

"Thank you for being so amazing. Don't change a thing about yourselves. I loved that you weren't "yoga travel experts" per se. I felt like we were ALL on a journey together figuring out how to make a magical experience. It was organic and real. Nat, you are such a force of nature. Trust your instincts; they are divine!"

  • Review by Lacie C

"There is simply no describing the depth of connection I felt with my 35 fellow travelers, none of whom I met before last Saturday night. For those that equate yoga to a bunch of hippies sitting around chanting OM, you have no idea how far off from the truth you could be. It simply transcends description, and can only be understood through engagement with the movement, the principles, and the beautiful community that evolves."
